Pastors must help people discern the difference between God versus religion. Not everything that is religious is God inspired. Who created religion, God or man?
I wrote my book God vs. Religion to help Pastors and the peoples of the world. Religion is boring, but God is fun! Religion is static and predictable. God on the other hand is spontaneous and supernatural. Religion is full of rules and is not cool. God is liberating and enjoyable. Religion hinders your relationship with your Creator. An intimate relationship with God will expose the dead trappings of religion for what it is.
Never hinder the flow of life by your religious structure. Let the living continue to live. Let those breathing continue to be lest you choke off the life of God entirely. Spontaneous life cannot totally be directed. It was meant to be enjoyed.
Pastor when you feel out of control, remember God is still in control. When you feel fragmented and incongruent, like a child humble yourself and return to your Maker asking Him to make you whole. Religion ultimately was birthed out of fear as mankind tried to be "religious" in place of divine relationship.
When Adam sinned and lost the glory of God, he inwardly knew something was missing. Separated from God and His blessed Holy Spirit, Adam began to seek in himself to bring back the glory of God. Man's frail and pitiful efforts however can never warrant the blessing of God's glory. Only by the grace of God and the shed blood of Christ can humanity be brought back to a living, life-giving relationship with the Lord their Maker.
