MyLot Magic by Abas Sulaiman

A few weeks ago I was browsing & was making some posts on MyLot.com. A discussion thread title & picture about a lady who committed suicide caught my attention. However, I did not want to read about it as I was not interested in the subject. It stayed on my mind as I was driving the car to the shops a bit later in the day.

The picture of the seemingly overweight lady in the suicide discussion thread reminded me of my younger sister. It made me worry about how somebody being overweight may somehow lead to a suicide. My younger sister can be considered healthily overweight. I did not bother reading more about it even though I was wondering profusely about the cause of the suicide. It is my bad habit; worrying about things without further researching into the matter.

I thought about Natalie too; my good friend from Germany, reminiscing of how good her body looks now as she gracefully ages into her late teens. Pretty long legs, her muscles slightly toned from years of vigorous sports activity at school & months of regularly jogging 8km per session. Her participation in ballet classes also helped her improve her poise. Natalie was therefore safe within my perception that being overweight may lead to committing suicide.

Later in the night I called Natalie. She told me that her friend's father died on Sunday. He had committed suicide by hanging himself to death. His wife recently had a big argument with him. So he went to live in another house. His death was unexpected as he seemed to behave normally the evening, conversing with his children before he committed suicide. Everybody that Natalie knew was sad about it. Five minutes of silence & prayer were conducted in the classroom of the dead man's daughter; Natalie's friend, Emma.

He died last week on Sunday. Was my experience at MyLot earlier in the day a paranormal signal of what had happened last week? At least the premonition was not about the future as I visited MyLot on Tuesday; two days after Emma's father killed himself. Anyway, it was very likely a coincidence regarding Natalie as I do think about her occasionally.

MyLot has a variety of eccentric topics open for discussion everyday. Therefore, stumbling upon a topic about a suicide, two days after somebody's suicide may not be actually as profound as finding a needle in a haystack. Besides, suicides probably happens everyday in the world. Presumably, not many individuals are informed directly or indirectly about such incidents too. I just happened to be one of the informed individuals that day.
